Below is an announcement from the Alumni Association, about the Sat. game between the Illini and Michigan. As is the practice with most games, the GAIC will have game watches at both the Third Base in Round Rock and Third Base on 6th Street.

Note the game starts at 2:30. Come out and visit with other Illinois alumni, and cheer the Illini.

Now that Oct. dates are near, for those who have not paid dues for the 2011-12 year, please consider making a dues payment to the GAIC. One half of the dues go into our scholarship fund and are very important in providing scholarship assistance for Austin area students who are attending the University of Illinois. Remember the dues is as follows: Single Membership: $20; Couple members, (one an Illini) $30; Couple membership, (both Illini)..$40. It has been called to my attention that my message about our Fall Dinner had a reference about the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, which was confusing or mis-leading. Please observe the following:

I am sure that all of you in central Texas are aware of the devastating
fires in the area, and particularly at Steiner Ranch. We just got off the
phone with Steiner Ranch, and are pleased to announce that they will be open
for business this evening, which means, the GAIC Fall Dinner is on as
scheduled.

This communication is to announce the annual Big Ten event at the Dell Diamond. As in past years, this event is designed to have members from each Big Ten school meet together, enjoy a baseball game, and provide support for the Capital Area Food Bank.

Welcome to the Hot, Hot, Hot summer weather in Austin. We have some new dates to give you, and would like to receive some input from you. GAIC Board has already had one meeting this summer, and will have one more to plan for the 2011-2012 club year.
